Politics A setback for India’s prime minister? Narendra Modi and the BJP suffer a humiliating election defeat in Bihar state.

India's ruling party, the BJP, is trying to work out where it all went wrong after election defeat in the state election of Bihar.
The BJP-led alliance was able to win just 60 seats in the 243-seat state assembly.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the Bihar election a priority for his party, holding at least 30 campaign rallies.
The loss in one of India's poorest and most populous states means his government will struggle to push through key reforms nationwide.
So, how will Modi now implement his policies? And what lessons can he and his party learn?
